Cottage for Rent - Silver Lake, New York - Enjoy one of the best kept secrets in Western New York - Relax and do nothing - or pick from the endless list of things that the Silver Lake area has to offer.

We call them Cottages - I'm not sure why. This particular cottage was built around 1889. It was once a very rustic dwelling made in the Victorian style with lots of decorative wood work. After many years of hard work, it is far from rustic. With all the amenities you would find in a year round home, this is truly a summer home with a nice covered porch and a deck off the kitchen to drink your coffee in the morning sun. Also, plenty of parking for you and your guests.

Location - Close to the lake in the beautiful area called the Silver Lake Institute. The Institute was once the showcase of Western New York. At one point in history, it was considered to be a cultural hub during the summer months. So much so that you would have to pay admission to get into the fenced-in Institute grounds. Today it is not as prominent as it once was, but you can feel the history and see the progress some folks have made trying to bring it back to its glory days.

So where's the Lake? - This cottage is about 300 feet or so from the lake (just a guess, I've never measured it). Unfortunately, it does not include a dock. But if you have a boat, there are three different locations on the lake to put your boat in. Currently the State boat lunch is $5. At the end of the street there is a public overlook deck and a swimming area.

1400 square foot of space - The first floor has a laundry area / bath, eat-in kitchen, large living room, and a bedroom with a double bed. The second floor has 4 bedrooms (2 double beds and 2 singles) and a bath.
